How to Merge two related query subjects in Cognos

A query subject is a set of query items that have an inherent relationship. You can combine Query subject items either at the physical layer (Admin or Developer view) or in the Presentation Layer (model objects that the user sees).

  • Two related query subjects can be joined with a common query item
  • From MODEL
  • Select product, product_multilingual query subjects
  • Right click
  • Click on merge in new query subjects
  • Select the merged query subjects
  • Right click
  • Click on edit definition
  • Select product_number query item and click on delete
