Prerequisites - What You Need
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort using a web browser (Azure Data Factory Studio runs in-browser)
  • Interest in data, pipelines, and how information moves between systems
  • No programming needed to build your first pipeline — Copy activity and Data Flows are visual/low-code
  • SQL basics are the most useful skill to learn alongside — taught from scratch, no prior experience required
For Working Professionals
Already know SQL? Fast-track to the DP-700 data-engineer track.
Who is this for
SQL DevelopersETL / SSIS DevelopersBI & Data AnalystsSoftware EngineersCloud & DevOps EngineersData Warehouse Professionals
Helpful Background (Not Mandatory)
  • SQL proficiency is the biggest advantage — ADF sources, transformations, and sinks are SQL-centric
  • ETL/ELT and data-warehousing familiarity accelerates learning; SSIS or Informatica experience transfers directly (ADF's SSIS Integration Runtime supports lift-and-shift of existing packages)
  • Basic Python/PySpark helps for mapping data flows and Databricks/Synapse integration — useful but optional
  • No prior ADF or Azure experience needed — pipeline building and Azure basics are taught in-course

This course completion certificate is not a substitute for an official Microsoft certification.

Official Azure Data Factory Certification:

There is no standalone official Microsoft Azure Data Factory certification.  However, Azure Data Factory is a core skill validated by relevant Microsoft data  engineering certifications, including:

  • Azure Data Fundamentals (DP-900) – Entry-level Certification
  • Fabric Data Engineer Associate (DP-700) – Associate-level Certification

The table summarizes key information about these certification exams.

Certification Exam Exam Fee Duration Level Passing Score

Azure Data Factory(ADF) Training FAQs

Can a fresher or non-IT person learn Azure Data Factory?

Yes. ADF's pipeline builder is visual and low-code — you can create your first Copy activity and Data Flow without writing code. Start with data fundamentals and the beginner-friendly DP-900 (Azure Data Fundamentals), which has no prerequisites and needs no coding experience.

Do I need programming experience to start learning ADF?

Not to begin. Building pipelines with datasets, linked services, and Copy activities is drag-and-drop. SQL is the most useful skill to learn alongside — it's taught from scratch — while Python/PySpark only become relevant later for advanced mapping data flows and Databricks integration.

What is the minimum qualification to enrol?

Any graduate from any discipline can enrol. There is no mandatory IT or computer-science degree to start — basic computer literacy, curiosity about data, and consistent hands-on practice matter most.

Which Azure certification should a fresher target first?

Begin with DP-900 (Azure Data Fundamentals) — the entry-level exam covering core data concepts and Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory. It has no prerequisites and never expires. From there you can progress toward DP-700, the current data-engineering credential.

Is Azure Data Factory useful for working IT professionals?

Very. ADF is Microsoft's primary cloud ETL/ELT and orchestration service, used by 15,000+ companies and integrated across Azure — Synapse, Databricks, and Azure SQL. SQL developers, ETL developers, BI analysts, and engineers are in steady demand for pipeline and data-engineering roles.

I know SQL and SSIS — will my skills transfer to ADF?

Directly. SQL is central to ADF sources, transformations, and sinks, and your ETL background maps straight onto pipelines and mapping data flows. ADF's SSIS Integration Runtime even lets you lift-and-shift existing SSIS packages to run in the cloud.

Which certification should a working professional target — is DP-203 still valid?

Target DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) — the current Microsoft data-engineering exam. Note that DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer Associate) was retired on 31 March 2025 and can no longer be taken; DP-700 is its replacement. There are no formal prerequisites, though SQL and data experience help.

How long does it take an experienced professional to get certified?

With a solid SQL and data background, most professionals reach DP-700 readiness in around 6–8 weeks of part-time study and hands-on practice with ADF, Microsoft Fabric, and pipelines.

What are the Main Objectives of this Azure Data Factory training?

The main objective of this Azure data factory training is to make you develop complex ETL processes that convert data visually with data flows or through compute services. It also teaches you to create linked services and datasets and data factory activities. Through our industry experts, instructor-led training, Simulation learning, well-organized course curriculum, and live training sessions, you will be able to enhance your skills on Azure Data Factory.

What are the prerequisites to take this Azure Data Factory course?

Individuals who want to take this Azure Data Factory course must have a fundamental understanding of SQL, Data Warehouse, and Business Intelligence.

Who Should Take this Azure Data Factory online training?

Students, Graduates, SQL Developers, and BI Professionals who want to get a high-paying job can take this Azure Data Factory online training.

Why Should You Learn Azure Data Factory?

Azure Data Factory is a cloud ETL service for serverless data transformation and data integration. It provides a customised UI for inherent authoring and single pane-of-glass management and monitoring. We can also shift and lift the available SSIS packages to Azure and execute them with complete compatibility in ADF. Enterprises from different fields like Retail, Compute Services, Healthcare, and Automotive use Azure Data Factory. As per Ziprecruiter.com, the average salary of an Azure Data Factory engineer in the US is around $104K per annum.

What are the essential skills covered in this Azure Data Factory training?

In this Azure Data Factory training, you will master the following skills:

  • Creating Data Factory Pipelines
  • Handling Integration Runtime
  • Designing the Azure Database
  • Configuring different integration runtimes
  • Copying the Data
  • Managing the Monitor
  • Monitoring and Debugging the Pipelines
  • Executing the Pipelines and SSIS Packages
  • Creating the Alerts

What Job roles are offered to Azure Data Factory professionals?

After completing this Azure Data Factory training, you can achieve the job roles like Azure Data Factory Engineer, Azure Data Factory Developer, Azure Data Factory Expert, and BI Engineer.

(5/5)

I enrolled in the Azure Data Factory training to strengthen my data engineering skills, and the course exceeded my expectations. The trainer explained pipelines, linked services, integration runtime, and data flows with practical examples. The hands-on labs made it much easier to understand real-world ETL scenarios. I feel much more confident working on Azure projects now.
