Earn DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) — the current credential replacing the retired DP-203 (ended 31 March 2025). Covers Microsoft Fabric lakehouses, Data Factory in Fabric, Dataflows Gen2, and Spark. ~40–60 questions, ~100 min; renewed free yearly.
Design data lake/lakehouse architectures, lead migrations, build streaming pipelines, and optimise cost across ADF, Synapse, Databricks, and Fabric, with PySpark and governance (Purview). Experience-based (6–10 yrs); optional DP-600 or AZ-305.
Set enterprise data strategy: end-to-end platform design, governance, security, cost, and team leadership. A senior milestone (9+ yrs); AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert) is a common add-on.
No standalone ADF certification exists; DP-203 retired on 31 March 2025, and DP-700 (Fabric Data Engineer Associate) is its replacement. Exams: Microsoft Certifications via Pearson VUE.
