Azure SQL database

Azure Data Warehouse

SQL database is especially for online data transaction processing. It deals with lots of short transactions like inserting, deleting and updating multiple processes

SQL data warehouse is especially for online analytical processing for data warehouse

Storage size of SQL database is 4tb and in the near future, it will be around 10TB

Sql data warehouse storage is very less compared to azure sql database it’s just  1pb

Max concurrent queries it can take is 6400

Max concurrent open queries it can take is 1024

SQL DB supports in-memory OLTP.

SQL DW is OLAP and doesn’t support it.
