No vendor offers a Generative AI architect exam - Stage 5 is an experience-based milestone.
Build the base. Learn Python and data handling, how transformers and LLMs actually work, and disciplined prompt engineering across ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini. Two optional first credentials: Google Cloud Generative AI Leader (no coding, 90 minutes) or AWS Certified AI Practitioner (AIF-C01). No AI background needed.
Build real GenAI applications: LLM APIs, embeddings and chunking, RAG over vector databases, LangChain or LlamaIndex orchestration, plus guardrails and output evaluation. Validated by NVIDIA NCA-GENL (USD 125, 50–60 questions, 60 minutes) or Microsoft AI-103 (USD 165, 120 minutes, 700/1000) — the successor to AI-102, retired 30 June 2026.
Take GenAI to production. Fine-tune with LoRA and PEFT, build agentic workflows, serve and monitor models, and control inference cost. Anchored by the Databricks Certified Generative AI Engineer Associate (USD 200, 45 scored questions, 90 minutes) and AWS Certified Generative AI Developer – Professional (AIP-C01, USD 300, 750/1000 to pass, 3-year validity).
Lead delivery across teams: multi-agent orchestration, distributed training and fine-tuning at scale, inference cost optimisation, security and AI governance. NVIDIA NCP-GENL (USD 200, professional tier, 2 hours) is the closest matching exam; seniority here is largely an experience-based milestone, not a certification.
Own enterprise AI strategy: model and platform selection, data and RAG architecture, security, compliance and cost governance across hybrid and multi-cloud estates. No major vendor offers a Generative AI architect exam — an experience-based milestone, typically 8+ years across data, cloud and ML, often backed by a cloud architect certification.
Outcome: an honest path from Python beginner to enterprise Generative AI architect, covering every current vendor GenAI credential plus the engineering and architecture roles that follow. Exams are booked directly with each vendor: Google Cloud Generative AI Leader (3-year validity), AWS AIF-C01 and AWS AIF-C01 via Pearson VUE, NVIDIA NCA-GENL and NCP-GENL (2-year validity), Microsoft AI-103 (replaces AI-102, retired 30 June 2026) and Databricks Generative AI Engineer Associate.
