sleep() function does not terminate a particular thread; however, it ends the entire method for the particularised sum of time. For preventing the execution of an appropriate thread, we can utilize one pthread condition object and also apply pthread_cond_timedwait() function for obtaining the thread pause for a particular sum of time.
