Azure Load Balancer will be available in two (Stock-keeping-Unit)SKUs - Basic and Standard. By default, the Standard SKU is used when you create an Azure Kubernetes Service(AKS) cluster. Using a Standard SKU load balancer, it offers more features and functionality, such as a larger backend pool size and Availability Zones. It is important that you will understand the differences between Standard and Basic load balancers before choosing which to use. After you create an AKS cluster, then you cannot change the load balancer SKU for that cluster. The APIs for both SKUs are similar and are invoked through the specification of a SKU.
