Primavera P6 Professional 25.12 is the current on-premises release. Oracle numbers releases by year and month, so 25.12 shipped in December 2025 and became publicly available in January 2026. Oracle updates the on-premises client annually each December. This course is taught on 25.12.

Can I download Primavera P6 for free to practice?

Yes, legally, for a limited period. Oracle publishes a 30-day free trial of P6 Professional through the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud — create a free Oracle account, download the installer, and configure it with a standalone SQLite database so you can run it on a single laptop with no server.

What is the difference between Primavera P6 Professional and P6 EPPM?

P6 Professional is the Windows desktop client for building and analyzing individual schedules. P6 EPPM is the wider web platform — it includes the Professional client but adds a browser interface, dashboards, portfolios, team member timesheets and enterprise-wide resource management. The distinction matters for certification: Oracle sets the 1Z0-1129 exam largely on the EPPM web client, including dashboards, portfolio management, the team usage page and timesheets. A course that teaches only the desktop client cannot cover those topic areas.

No. There is no mandatory degree requirement, and Oracle sets none for its exam. Many planners come from civil, mechanical, or construction backgrounds because that is where the demand is concentrated, but P6 planners also work in IT delivery, oil and gas, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
