Five progressive stages from SQL and PL/SQL foundations to enterprise Oracle APEX solution architect, with typical India (LPA) and USA (USD) salary ranges for 2026. Oracle APEX has a single official credential — the Oracle APEX Cloud Developer Professional (1Z0-771, USD 245); the earlier 1Z0-770 is retired and has been replaced by it. There is no APEX-specific architect exam, so Stage 5 is an experience-based milestone. Oracle APEX itself is a low-code platform included free with every supported Oracle Database edition — there is no separate platform licence fee.
Oracle APEX runs entirely inside the Oracle Database using SQL and PL/SQL, so start here. Learn relational data modelling, write SQL and PL/SQL, then get comfortable in the APEX environment — workspaces, App Builder, SQL Workshop and the Object Browser — and build your first app. No prior APEX experience needed. Optionally validate the basics with the Oracle Database SQL Certified Associate (1Z0-071).
Build real low-code applications. Master forms, classic and interactive reports, Interactive Grids, faceted search, charts, dynamic actions, validations and shared components in Page Designer. Oracle's free APEX Foundations and APEX Developer Professional courses (hands-on labs on apex.oracle.com) cover this stage — there is no exam here, just portfolio-building.
