The Tool palette shown in Figure 2.4 is available on both the front panel and the block diagram. You can create, modify, and debug VIs using the tools located on the floating Tools palette. A tool is a special operating mode of the mouse cursor. The cursor corresponds to the icon of the tool selected in the Tools palette. Use the tools to operate and modify the front panel and block diagram objects. You can manually choose the tool you need by selecting it on the Tools palette. Or select View» Tools Palette to display the Tools palette. Also, you can press the key and right-click to display a temporary version of the Tools palette at the location of the cursor. Table 2.3 provides the detailed function of each icon of the tools palette.
