How to Create Master-Detail Relationship in Cognos Report Studio

• The 2 containers can be merged using master details relationship

• The 2 containers should have a common query item to merge the data

• Add the following query items to the list

• Staff name

• Order number

• Order date

• Revenue

• From toolbox,

• Drag the list drop beside the revenue

• Add the following query items to the list2

• Order number

• Product name

• Description

• Quantity

• From List2,

• Select order number

• From the toolbar click on the cut

• From list2,

• Select quantity

• From the data menu,

• Select aggregate

• Click on total

• From data menu

• Select Master-Detail relationship

• Click on a new link

• From list2

• Select quantity

• From data menu

• Select aggregate

• Click on total

• From data menu

• Select Master Detail relationship

• Click on a new link

• From query1

• Select order number

• From query2

• Select staff name

• From structure menu

• Click on Group

• From structure menu

• Select Headers & Footers

• Click on create headers

• Select the staff name header cell

• From toolbar, click on delete

• Edit the fonts

• Run the report
